    Abstract

    This chapter is about using the teachers’ stories in search of the seeds of success they have shown in the formation of a teacher identity that enhances student engagement, improves student learning and hence develops them as exemplary teachers. It explores three critical aspects of teacher identity identified in the research. The first is community membership, the second is motivation to teach and the third is the formative influences on teaching.
