Abstract

In a 'globalising world', the idea that we share a common humanity is very powerful as people struggle to affirm human values and to work out what that means in the 'global village'. We often express that common humanity in terms of human rights; the rights that all humans should possess, regardless of age, sex, culture, race, religion and nationality (Curtin University, 2007).
