    Abstract

In 1990 a study was undertaken that investigated the emotional health of school principals in South Australia. The study found a high level of stress and stress related problems associated with the work of being a school principal. Ten years later, those who were diagnosed with high levels of stress were again interviewed and the findings are reported here. In most cases stress had abated due to early retirement.
