Abstract
An exploration of the historic Parliamentary Joint Sitting of 1974 and what it achieved. The Joint Sitting was a foray into new constitutional territory, and an important instance of perseverance and resolution (mainly) triumphing over obstinacy and obstruction on the path to national reform.
