Abstract

Letter to the editor: Ten to 15% of the population use benzodiazepines in any given year, and 2% use benzodiazepines chronically. However, benzodiazepine use disorder is more prevalent in individuals who abuse other substances [1]. The following case describes a young man who presented several times to our hospital over a 6-month period and highlights the complex and risky clinical picture that can result from benzodiazepine misuse.
