Abstract

![CDATA[This research is a conceptual paper on urban regeneration financing and Land Value Capture in Malaysia. The analysis also identifies various LVC mechanisms that are applied around the world and their potential for application in Malaysia. The study presents the first substantial Malaysian study that explicitly explains the role of key property players in urban regeneration and LVC. The outcome of this study comprises recommendations for more viable strategies and policies that land value captures offers to finance urban regeneration. Furthermore, this study highlights the opportunities and barriers in implementing LVC. The study area is confined to Johor Bahru and Kuala Lumpur as a case study.
