    Abstract

Forensic science is a complex area. This complexity arises from two distinct sources. Firstly, the random and disorganised nature .of cnme makes the application of scientific techniques to the analysis of evidence complex. And secondly, there is the requirement for the scientific results to be expressed within the legal domain that has complex rules and protocols that are different to the process of scientific reasoning.
