Abstract

Constraint-induced movement therapy (CIMT) is effective at improving functional performance in patients with stroke. Emerging research suggests the use of self-regulation (SR) is effective at improving one's learning. The active learning component in SR is proposed to produce an added-on effect to the therapist-directed CIMT.
