Abstract

![CDATA[Learning Law is an indispensable guide for students beginning their law studies. It provides the foundational knowledge and skills required for the study and practice of law, and also instils in students a passion and excitement for the law. Lawyers, barristers and solicitors, are required to act according to high ethical standards. But there is a real difficulty in acting to high ethical standards when the lawyer has many competing matters to consider and evaluate. This chapter shows the importance of legal ethics to lawyers and the system of law that they work within, by linking the necessity for ethics in professional groupings, explaining the broad nature of the rules and how breaches may lead to misconduct proceedings.]]
