Abstract

To address the current challenges facing mental healthcare, the International Network of Integrative Mental Health (INIMH: www.INIMH.org) was established in March 2010, and its website was officially launched in October 2012. Our objective was to create an international organization consisting of clinicians, researchers, educators, and public health advocates to advance a global agenda for evidencebased integrative mental healthcare. The emerging field of integrative mental health (IMH) adopts the bio-psycho-socio-spiritual model, utilizing evidence-guided treatments from both traditional healing and modern scientific practices. IMH incorporates 'conventional' interventions including the judicious use of psychopharmacology, psychosocial therapies, in addition to evidence-based complementary and alternative (CAM) medicines and therapies, and health-promoting lifestyle modifications. INIMH is pleased to announce an affiliation with Advances in Integrative Medicine (AIMed). The philosophy underpinning the journal is in synergy with INIMH, as both are committed to advancing a rigorous evidence-based integrative approach in medicine and mental health.
