Abstract
For SSA voices and narrator, string quartet and percussion (singers: 6 pairs clapsticks, 12 poinciana seedpods, 6 single panpipe notes (random pitches); percussionist: bass drum plus medium soft mallets, 2 suspended cymbals (1 x 'sizzle'), bass bow, glass wind chimes (random pitches), mark tree, tam tam (low pitch), 3 different pitched low tom-toms plus medium timpani mallets, 2 timpani (G, A, D, E, G) plus soft, medium and hard mallets, quijada, cabasa, rainstick, 2 poinciana seedpods, 1 pair of clapsticks, 1 set tubular bells). uration: ca. 30 min. Commissioned in 1992 by the Sydney Children's Choir.
