Abstract
As psychiatrists we are well aware of the sincere (and persistent) effort that is required to achieve a standard of excellence in our clinical practice and to maintain it. However, we can often neglect to acknowledge the role of choice in our quest for excellence. This issue of Australasian Psychiatry may be viewed as a valuable catalogue of choices that informs us of approaches and views, keeping us well-informed and well-rounded. The articles in this issue come from many different perspectives and some may be more applicable to our clinical practice than others. These articles provide us with choices giving us the opportunity to improve the way we practise our noble art of psychiatry.
