    Abstract

In this chapter, we ask the question: does the persistence of the past and its memory always work against progressive LGBTIQ policing? We suggest this policing history demonstrates discursive history in action. We hope to show how the remnant traces of past policing can re-emerge to profoundly shape relations in the present. While this may not appear at first to be an important consideration, we suggest that it may significantly shape the government of LGBTIQ policing in particular.
