Abstract
On November 25, 1840, the constitutional theorist and law professorFriedrich Julius Stahl entered a hall at the University of Berlin to deliver his firstlecture at the prestigious institution. It was undoubtedly the high point of thethirty-eight-year-old's career thus far.
