Abstract
The article focuses on the perceived affective expression of computer-manipulated sung sounds. It states that the use of vocal sounds, particularly sung sounds and their computational manipulation, has been a recurrent feature of computer music. It states that the most influential theories of affect in music came from L. B. Meyer, who suggested that listeners build expectations, and these may be fulfilled leading to correspondingly positive or negative emotions
