Abstract
A Cochrane Systematic Review of midwife-led continuity of care models found that women who get to know their midwives have less birth intervention, are more satisfied and have fewer adverse perinatal outcomes (Sandall et al., 2015). In fact, the evidence is now so strong on this issue that one could consider it unethical not to offer all women this model of care and for governments to prioritise funding towards this.
