    Abstract

This paper reports the results of a survey of Australian accounting and finance academics at the level of senior lecturer and above, in order to provide a ranking of journals in the accounting and finance disciplines, with respect to the perceived relative quality of these journals. Overall, there would appear to be distinct groupings of journals by degree of perceived quality and considerable overlap between journals ranked in an Australian, UK and US setting. The information reported provides useful insight into current perceptions of the standing of refereed journals. Such information may be useful to support the development of workload assessment models resulting from workplace agreements and act as a guide to academics seeking to publish in "highly" regarded journals.
