    Abstract

![CDATA[This paper examines the role of criteria and rating factors in a peer assessment instrument used in individual mark moderation for group work in management education. The paper forms part of a longitudinal study on peer assessment. Literature reviewed includes criteria development in peer and self assessment and its efficacy in group work assessment. A sample of the instrument and collation methods are provided. Findings from research conducted on 250 students at two metropolitan universities in Australia reveal that the ten criteria can be clustered into four major criteria categories. The paper concludes with a discussion of the implications of clustering criteria on the instrument and educational and philosophic issues of management learning and assessment.]]
