    Abstract

    Victims of crimes committed by persons who have been found by a court to be 'not guilty by reason of mental illness' - legal, administrative and policy responses to victims of forensic patients before the NSW Mental Health Review Tribunal - operation of the Mental Health (Forensic Provisions) Act 1990 - approaches of other Australian jurisdictions - issues in balancing the rights of victims and the rights of patients - recommendations for reform.
