    Abstract

The Sunny Corner Silver Mining Company was the first financially successful silver producer in Australia, although it operated for only a few years in the latter part of the nineteenth century. Virtually all ore was sourced from the oxidised zone and mostly consisted of an assemblage of Ag-rich members of the alunite supergroup formed under quite acidic conditions. Ag in the primary mineralisation is hosted in tetrahedrite. More recently an exotic assemblage of acid mine drainage (AMO) minerals has developed in the outcrop of sulfide-rich remnants of the primary ore body. A description of each style of mineralisation is provided.
