Abstract

The aim of the book, is to explore both everyday and mediated narratives about food and intercultural encounters. This will be undertaken through a range of methodologies, including auto-ethnography, textual analysis, visual ethnography, questionnaires and interviews. Such a multi-methodological approach is not merely a means of addressing different contexts and disciplines but is also a crucial toolkit to highlight the everydayness of food, as well as the reflexivity involved in intercultural encounters over food. In addition, what may at first glance appear to be an aesthetic or consumption-oriented food practice can transform to acquire ethical dimensions in certain contexts.
