    Abstract

    The Thousand Ruby Galaxy is a book about falling in love and how, when that happens, the intergalactic becomes local. True to form, Edmond's tale of courtship also traverses a broad range of subjects, including Alexander the Great, the gods of the Dogon, the Eureka Stockade, Jainism, Keats, the Philosophical City, Sha Na Na and much else besides.
