Abstract

As initially described by Wilson, the WCT is negligible in amplitude and almost constant (little or none variation) throughout the cardiac cycle. However, soon after introduction of the WCT to practice, researchers realised that the WCT introduced a systematic error for the ECG measurements. Experiments performed as early as 1955 have shown that WCT amplitude is not negligible and can exceed the P wave amplitude.
