Abstract
Around the world sporting stadiums are becoming increasingly sophisticated in a bid to meet the competing needs of stakeholders such are players, teams, spectators, television companies and governments. The result is the development of increasingly advanced sporting stadiums which no longer just provides a venue in which to watch sport. Stadiums have now become a part of precincts offering a mix of retail, commercial, residential and public spaces. Following a meta-analysis of fourteen sport and entertainment developments spread throughout North America, Europe, Asia and Australia a number of key findings can be identified under the themes of economic, social, and environmental benefits.
