N2 - Welcome to this Special Edition of the Australian Journal of Music Therapy (AJMT Volume 32-1). This is the first Special Edition published by AJMT since 2015. This ‘bumper’ edition follows the stressors and impacts of COVID-19 lockdowns on authors for AJMT Volume 31, where there was a notable reduction in the number of manuscripts submitted to the journal (Bibb & Clark, 2020). Supported by Dr Jennifer Bibb (AJMT Editor-In-Chief), and Dr Kate Williams (Associate Editor), I have enjoyed compiling this edition while marvelling at the responsive and creative ways Australian Registered Music Therapists (RMTs) have pivoted to developing online telehealth approaches. The title of this edition is inspired by songs from 1980’s Australian Rock Bands GANGgajang ‘Sounds of then (This is Australia)’ (Callaghan, 1985), and Men At Work ‘Down Under’ (Hay & Strykert, 1981), chosen specifically to encourage an Australian focus for this edition, while embracing the multicultural, neurodiverse, interwoven fabric of our communities at this time.
