Abstract
Children's viewpoints are rarely heard in government planning, Blacktown City Council partnered with Western Sydney University researchers to undertake a unique project using digital mapping. To promote the wellbeing of children, their environments and living standards, local governments are increasingly looking for effective strategies for emphasising and sustaining children's participation and inclusion in their planning strategies. Blacktown City Council, keen to foster inclusive participation, held a Child Friendly Places Conference.
