Abstract
Community-acquired, non-multiresistant methicillinresistant Staphylococcus aureus strains unrelated to nosocomial strains have emerged in many parts of the world. Unlike multiresistant nosocomial MRSA strains, nonmultiresistant MRSA strains test susceptible to most, if not all, of the non-beta-lactam antibiotics which can be given orally, therefore, there is a bigger potential range of antimicrobial agents to treat infection with these strains.
