Abstract
Time synchronization between the transmitter and receiver is of crucial importance in regards to the performance of an OFDM system. In this paper, we provide an estimated weighting factor, in which neither the signal nor noise powers are required. This approach can be viewed as an improvement of the van de Beek's algorithm, which is very popular in timing estimation.
