    Abstract

![CDATA[Interviewing seems to be such an easy mode of obtaining data. Not a day goes by without professionals garnering information from experts as they interview them on radio or television. There is no shortage of models or techniques of interviewing to immerse ourselves in. Besides, most people like talking about their interests and concerns. After conducting more than 50 in depth interviews for my doctoral research resulting in a minor mountain of data it has been interesting to reflect on the pleasures, the pitfalls and the perils of this form of data collection. This paper aims to guide and inform your thinking about whether this is an appropriate mode of data collection for your research.]]
