    Abstract

With Eucalyptus forests accounting for 75% (over 101 million hectares) of Australia’s native forested area and including over 800 species, the characterisation of Eucalyptus leaves is of great interest in many different fields of research. For example, plant scientists are interested in their growth and tolerance for different climate conditions, animal scientists are interested in diet of the animals which eat the eucalyptus leaves, and fire scientists are interested in understanding how Eucalypts pyrolyse and combust in bushfires.
