Abstract
The lack of regulations to ensure the recruitment by the law enforcement agencies of trained and certified interpreters and translators has led to the situation in Spain that translations can be manipulated to support one party at the expense of effective judicial protection. One such case is that of journalist Taysir Allouny. This article will discuss the case of Allouny not only from the point of view of the quality of translations and professional ethics, but also from the point of view of discourse analysis.
