Abstract
The Tranquility Painting for Peace and Cultural Wellbeing Project is an arts-based research project investigating what peace and wellbeing look like through the eyes of young people. Arts workshops with students from Liverpool Boys and Girls High School supported young people to think about what peace and wellbeing meant to them and provided opportunities for students to express their own ideas and share their stories and art in a series of workshops co-designed by Western Sydney University researcher, Dr Karin Louise, Ghanaian artist Emmanuel Asanate and Curiouswroks community orgnisation. An exhibition displaying the artworks and stories of 30young people was held in 2025 at Powerhouse Youth Theatre. A catalogue of their stories and art was produced depicting themes of culture, spirituality and nature alongside everyday wellbeing practices.
