Research Statement
This poem was co-written with Holly Isemonger, a distinguished Australian poet, winner in 2016 of the Judith Wright Poetry Prize and extends in poetic form a series of research themes pursued in my book On Drugs (Giramondo, 2019), about bureaucracy, mental health, and the reliability of memory. While it was inspired by the book, it is an original poetic composition, extending its themes. The book from which this poem is taken was shortlisted for the 5Islands Poetry Prize. The poem - anthologised in the collection Admissions (Upswell 2022), itself the winner of the Mental Health Matters Media and the Arts Award, 2023.Fingerprint
