    Abstract

![CDATA[ReachOut.com, headspace, and the Young and Well Cooperative Research Centre (YAWCRC) were established to promote youth wellbeing. This paper explores their use of Twitter over six months and the associated effects. The study highlights three key findings about the role of Twitter in the promotion of youth wellbeing. First, YAWCRC engaged with fellow Twitter users relatively more than its counterparts – furthermore, it connected users to spaces beyond the Twittersphere. Second, YAWCRC had considerable influence within this online community. Third, the themes that appeared to resonate with Twitter users included stigma, suicide prevention, and e-mental healthcare. These themes suggest there may be an appetite among users for information in these areas – a need partly filled via Twitter.]]
