Abstract
![CDATA[Ultimate frisbee is a high-energy game, which involves a range of generic skills such as running, jumping, throwing and catching, and trying to out-think the opposition. Perhaps the most appealing aspect of ultimate frisbee is its dynamic spirit of sportsmanship and its emphasis on fair play and enjoyment. This makes it a particularly good game to include in a physical education programme and this is what sets it apart most from the other games in this book. A rapidly growing non-contact sport played with a frisbee (also called a disc), ultimate frisbee was invented in 1968 by some American high school students who started playing frisbee football in their school car park. They called it 'ultimate' because they enjoyed it so much. Today it's played in over fifty countries by hundreds of thousands of people and has developed to the point where it has national championships and world championships.]]
