Abstract

Western Sydney stands at the precipice of unlocking its vast potential as a dynamic and diverse economic powerhouse. This region boasts an exceptionally skilled and increasingly educated population, complemented by its rich cultural tapestry. Almost half of its residents are proficient in a second language, from over 170 underscoring the unparalleled sociocultural diversity that uniquely positions Western Sydney for robust economic growth and innovation. This report provides a comprehensive regional map of the economic landscape: uncovering the untapped talent, spotlighting investment disparities, and charting the course to a brighter economic future. New data and outcomes from roundtable discussions are synthesised into actionable recommendations, developed collaboratively with a broad range of stakeholders, with the aim of evolving Western Sydney from a domain of untapped promise to one of realised economic success, fostering growth and prosperity across the community.
