Abstract
The preparation of a new metropolitan land use and transport strategy for Melbourne is currently underway. Part of this process is to seek answers to significant policy questions about the costs and efficiencies of various urban forms, particularly from a public policy perspective. This review of the existing literature seeks the best ways to evaluate the efficiencies of various urban forms.
