    Abstract

The aim of the research is to examine and analyse recent changes in public space in Bogatá. It involves conducting a case study of two parks which are included in an urban development project that the city's administration began in 1998, 'Parks for learning how to live' (Parques para aprender a vivir). This research evaluates two major aspects of this project: first, the interactions between the physical settings of parks and their surrounding communities; and second, the general lineaments of management and administrative processes regulating parks.
