Abstract

This report summarizes a small research study conducted at Logan Women's Health and Wellbeing Centre (LWHC) from late 2006 to late 2008. The research partnership was developed between LWHC and Social Justice and Social Change Research Centre (SJSC) at University of Western Sydney (UWS) after a meeting between Sonja Mahs (SM), psychologist and then Team Leader at LWHC, and Helen Vidler (HCV), psychologist from SJSC at UWS at the National Women's Health Conference in Melbourne in 2005. In March 2006 HCV travelled from Sydney to Logan Women's Health Centre to meet with the Board of Management of LWHC, outline the intentions of the study, and seek approval for it to go ahead. After this approval was given, Human Ethics approval was sought from UWS and granted by mid 2006.
