Abstract

The aim of this cross-sectional study was to assess the quality of life of elderly non-demented hostel residents. Quality of life was measured by face to face administration of the SF-36 questionnaire. The very old had better self-reported quality of life than the 75 – 84 age group. We report some problems with the administration of the questionnaire and suggest some modifications.
