Abstract
![CDATA[Climate change and electricity cost increased the investments into renewable energy technologies. Worldwide policies are recognized to help with the wide spread of renewable energy technologies. The most commonly installed renewable energy system for residential properties is the PV solar system. Investors and governments are also investing into large scale renewable energy power stations. The PV solar power plants will either transport the energy using DC transmission lines or convert the generated electric power into AC and transport it using AC transmission lines. Transportations of electric power require investment in adequate electrical infrastructure. The electrical infrastructure and electric losses put an extra burden on the cost of kWh. The paper covers the introduction and benefits of investing in small scale PV solar system with energy storage positioned at the load. The works highlight the financial and environmental benefits of the proposed topology over the standard ones, PV power plant and transports the energy to the load. The proposed theory within the paper is made possible by using available smart grid technologies. A case study is included to support the proposed theory.]]
