Abstract

Vascular dementia (VaD) is the second most common cause of dementia after AlzheimerÃƒÂ¢Ã¢"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢s disease, accounting for 15-20 per cent of all dementia cases. An overview of commonly used complementary therapies for the treatment of vascular dementia and dementia is provided, and the current scientific evidence for their effectiveness is outlined.
