Abstract
![CDATA[In recent years observers of the long-term shaping of the Australian HIV epidemic as a health matter, have witnessed an unexpected run of legal complaints and cases for homosexual and heterosexual transmission. It appears that an important part of the social drive behind these claims is an unintended effect of positive social movement activity. A new confidence about reporting victimisation is an outcome of feminist, gay and lesbian, and HIV advocacy in the public sexual arena. The mixed outcomes of such advocacy are now visible in individualised grievances that potentially undermine the collective ethical project of safe sex.]]
