Abstract
In spite of previous studies and reports (1996-2011) and demonstrable efforts by government and other agencies to ensure an enabling environment for children's development, child abuse persists in the country. The Ministry continues to receive reports of sexual abuse perpetrated within the confines of the family/home setting and by close relations. This scoping study on Violence Against Children in Fiji, with a specific focus on children in home setting has been commissioned by the Ministry of Women, Children and Social Protection (MWCSP) and funded by MFAT (New Zealand Aid). This is without under-emphasizing the existence of violence in other important social settings.
