    Abstract

In a virtual business world, real world constraints of operating within a single, integrated, strategic orientation, and the complexity and challenges associated with realizing an alternative strategic orientation can be addressed. The objective of this research was to design a software agent framework as a virtual business model to act in concert with a real world business environment experiencing significant challenges in realigning its production orientation to one focussing on its client organizations and their markets. This duel system has been designed to ensure key insights generated through intelligent agents representing distinct, desired orientations, as well as those from real world operations, are brought to the foreground for strategic decision-making. A virtual business model can provide customer and market relevant strategic interaction as the firm moves through transition to build a new, cohesive culture to support collaboration between an organization and its customers.
