Abstract
![CDATA[Written just before the September 11, 2001 catastrophe, this paper may seem inconsequential, dwelling as it does on the idea of spiritual renewal in Australia with particular reference to the music of Anne Boyd. What we have to say may seem purely idealistic against the backdrop of a world where gross acts of violence and terrorism emanating from fundamentalist extremists are rife. These acts, as any decent person would agree, are evil.
