Abstract

A partnership was established between the Centre for Social Research in Health and the Western Sydney and Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health Districts to conduct a three year research project over the period 2011-2013. The aim of the research project was to identify how Needle and Syringe Program (NSP) services: 1. Achieve the stated aims of the NSW NSP; 2. Contribute to broader health outcomes in relation to the health and well-being of people who inject drugs. This report focuses on three activities from this project: 1. Surveys with NSP clients; 2. Interviews with NSP clients. 3. Interviews with NSP workers.
