    Abstract

    The article discusses the meaning of wisdom in nursing and the need for professionals to think theoretically and use practical wisdom to assess, analyze and implement the subtleties of high quality health care. It cites several teaching strategies for bringing the elements of wisdom to the fore in clinical settings such as questioning of practice traditions about good practice, exploring ethical aspects of consumer care situations and making visible ways of listening to consumers.
