Abstract

This report describes the first formal evaluation of 'Filling the Gap' and focuses on the program from its beginnings in January 2006 until December 2007. The evaluation provided an important snapshot of the program and evidence critical to the shaping of 'Filling the Gap' in the years since. 'Filling the Gap' has grown from strength to strength since those early days. By December 2009, the program had recruited over 125 dentists and several dental hygienists from across Australia who together have provided more than 6,000 episodes of care.
