N2 - Despite ongoing predictions that industrial relations is fast becoming an irrelevant area of practice and study, the proceedings of the 24th AIRAANZ conference clearly demonstrate that few of the issues that have traditionally preoccupied the field have disappeared. The guise in which these issues present themselves and our understandings of them, however, may have changed. In particular, the responses of employers, workers and their respective organisations to the impacts of recent crises provide a source of continuing research and debate.
